Maddie and Gordon met at a mutual friends’ wedding in September 2012. Maddie wasn’t planning on going because she was recovering from getting her wisdom teeth out, but she felt like she really needed to be there so she went anyway. This sweet couple grew up in the same town, had many of the same friends and teachers, shared similar experiences, but had never met until this beautiful summer wedding. Maddie was a senior in high school and Gordon was a sophomore in College. Maddie describes Gordon as charming and says that he totally swept her off her feet. Gordon says he noticed a cute girl sitting at a table across the reception and finally worked up the courage to walk over there. He used the excuse to talk to his friend’s mother who was sitting near Maddie at the time. He finally asked Maddie to dance and four years later they would have their first dance as husband and wife. They had a beautiful wedding located on Maddie’s family property in Canby, OR. Maddie has a degree in apparel design from Oregon State, and her style and vision completely came to life on her wedding day. She even made the flower girl dresses. Their wedding day brought me to tears. It was such a beautiful reflection of true love and commitment. Congratulations Gordon + Maddie!
